Congratulations to our Student-Athletes!
Nearly 40 student athletes in the Southwest District were honored at a scholarship banquet on Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at the Dayton Marriott.  The recipients were recognized for their academic and athletic achievements.  About $30,500.00 was awarded to the district and state recipients, funds made possible through the sale of tournament t-shirts.

On Friday night, June 20, 2008, the commissioner and staff of the Ohio High School Athletic Association honored and recognized fifty-three of the brightest and gifted athletes in Ohio.   Ten of the honorees came from the Southwestern part of Ohio.

 Congratulations to all of the recipients and best of luck to you as you continue your education!

Sportsmanship, Ethics, and Integrity Award
Recipient Mike Kelly

Along with the recognition of these scholarship recipients, our own Coach Mike Kelly, former coach of the University of Dayton Flyers, was given the Sportsmanship, Ethics, and Integrity Award.  This award is given annually by the Ohio High School Athletic Association, and it depicts the individual that is recognized for displaying the noble characteristics of sportsmanship, honesty, and integrity.

SWDAB Website Celebrates Another Year
Of Record Numbers

The members of the Southwest District Athletic Board would like to congratulate and thank Cheryl Brandenburg for the outstanding job that she does with the SWDAB.org website.  You can see in reviewing this update what an important role the website plays. Mass media, sports casters, school administrators, coaches, parents, fans, and athletes rely heavily on the website. It has become a great source of information for all concerned.

Again, great job Mrs. Cheryl Brandenburg!
