BOYS & GIRLS SWIMMING SECTIONAL AND DISTRICT MEETS - Rules and Regulations.
Take what is needed from these rules and regulations for your Sectional and District Meets.RELAY EVENT ENTRY AT THE BOYS AND GIRLS SECTIONAL OR DISTRICT MEETS IS BASED ON THE SCHOOL COMPETING IN AT LEAST TWO (2) INTERSCHOLASTIC DUAL MEETS PRIOR TO THE SECTIONAL OR DISTRICT MEET.
1. Each school may enter four (4) competitors in the Sectional and four (4) will compete in each event, with no cut-off times. January 21, 2008, is the THIRTY (30) DAY CUT-OFF FOR INDEPENDENT SWIMMING.
2. Admission charges to the Sectional Meet will be $5.00, District Meet $6.00.
3. Electronic entries must be sent to the tournament manager by
2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 3, 20084. Tournament information will be sent by the manager and all schools will receive it prior to January 21, 2008.

6. The District Swimming Meet will be held at Miami University, Oxford, on Friday, February 15, 2008, for the boys and Saturday, February 16, 2008, for the girls. The District Diving Meet will also be held at Miami University on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 for the Division II girls, Wednesday, February 13, 2008 for the boys, and Thursday, February 14, 2008 for the Division I girls.

wbillhimer@cinci.rr.comRELAY TEAM MEMBERS MAY BE CHANGED FROM THE SECTIONAL TO DISTRICT TO STATE TOURNAMENT PROVIDING SWIMMERS ARE ON THE SCHOOL’S TOURNAMENT ELIGIBILITY LIST AND WILL NOT HAVE PARTICIPATED IN MORE EVENTS THAN PERMITTED BY THE FEDERATION RULES.
7. The boys from the Keating, Mason, Centerville, and Trotwood Sectionals will qualify two (2) individuals and twenty-four (24) at large in all individual events and two (2) relays and sixteen (16) at large in all relay events. The combined sectionals of Centerville/Trotwood will qualify two (2) individual divers while the Keating and Mason sectionals will each qualify two (2) individual divers for a total of six automatic qualifiers. The next eighteen (18) divers, based on total points scored, will qualify to the District Tournament.
The Division I girls from the Centerville, Mason and Keating sectionals will each automatically qualify two (2) individuals and the next twenty-six (26) at large in all individual events and two (2) relays and eighteen (18) at-large in all relay events. The sectionals of Centerville, Mason and Keating will automatically qualify two (2) individual divers from each sectional. The next eighteen (18) divers, based on the total points scored, will qualify to the District Tournament.
The Division II girls from the Trotwood and Mason sectionals will qualify two (2) individuals in each event and the next twenty (20) at large in all individual events and two (2) relays and twelve (12) at-large in all relay events. The sectionals of Wittenberg and Mason will qualify two (2) individual divers from each sectional. The next twenty (20) divers, based on the total points scored, will qualify to the District Tournament.
For all Sectionals, anyone with a faster time than the last automatic qualifier in each event will also qualify to the District at Miami.
BOYS - The District Tournament will automatically qualify three (3) in each swimming event to the State Meet, with eleven (11) at-large qualifiers that will be selected on the basis of times recorded in the District Meet. Six (6) divers will qualify to the State Meet.
GIRLS - The Division I District Tournament will automatically qualify four (4) in each swimming event to the State Meet, with eleven (11) at-large qualifiers that will be selected on the basis of times recorded in the District Meet. Seven (7) divers will qualify to the State Meet.
The Division II District Tournament will automatically qualify three (3) in each swimming event to the State Tournament, with eleven (11) at-large qualifiers that will be selected on the basis of times recorded in the District Tournament. Six (6) divers will qualify to the State Tournament.

WEATHER CANCELLATION POLICY
By District Board Action. A new Weather Cancellation Policy was adopted:
The Southwest District Board has established the following policy for cancellation or postponement of tournaments.
Schools participating in swimming/diving tournaments and reside in a county that experiences a Level Two (2) or Level Three (3) weather emergency, that SITE (tournament) will be postponed. Tournament managers must contact the District Board and make every effort to personally contact each school’s coach, athletic director, or principal.
Schools are also encouraged to make use of the Board website (www.swdab.org) for updated information regarding postponements and cancellations.
The tournament manager will contact the Board Secretary, who will work with the managers to contact the "News Media."
Prior to the start of tournaments, the managers will be instructed to make available to the Board, a contingency plan for weather emergencies.
