2010 DISTRICT TRACK AND FIELD RULES AND REGULATIONS


1.   The Tournament Manager will send all rules, regulations, and instruction sheets to each participating school no later than April 19, 2010. Likewise, each participating coach must submit the eligibility certificate to the meet manager seven days prior to the day of the meet.

2.   That State Track and Field Tournament Manual will be used in its entirety for conducting the District Tournament.

3.1   ENTRY PROCEDURES – A properly completed electronic entry form which must include the name and number of the individual entries in all events and a numerical list of all squad members with the assigned number of each athlete.

3.2  The completed electronic entries must by done by 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 14, TO FACILITATE MORE ACCURATE ENTRIES; however, managers may establish a later deadline for the completed electronic entry form. The date and time must be published and clearly communicated to all participating schools. Entries not submitted before the established deadline will not be accepted. Or, may be accepted, pending OHSAA permission and subject to a late entry penalty.

An earlier deadline for entries MAY NOT be established, but completed entries will be accepted earlier and are encouraged.

4.  All State and National Federation Rules will be used at the District, Regional, and State tournaments. The order of events will be identical to those of the Regional and State meets.

5.  Admission charge will be $6.00 at preliminaries and finals.

6.  Team and Individuals entries must be accompanied by a coach or school representative, if not they will not be able to participate. Girls teams coached by a male, it is recommended that a lady representative be present during the meet.

7.  The names of all participants must be given to the meet manager three days prior to the meet. Participants will be checked-off by the meet manager/designee prior to entrance to the track.

8.  Up to three (3) coaches for each team will be admitted free to the meet. Names of coaches must be submitted to the manager by May 14, 2010, and coaches will be checked-in at the meet by either the manager or his designee.

9.  Qualifiers from District to Regional: four (4) in each event, boys and girls.
Qualifiers from Regional to State: four (4) in each event, boys and girls.

10.  Registered track officials will be assigned by the District Tournament Managers. Non-registered officials may be used.

11.  Entry substitutes must be made by 12:00 noon, electronic, on the day that the event is contested. Substitutes must be listed on your team number list and eligibility certificate. Scratches are encouraged, at this time, if they are known.

12.  The District Tournament entry forms will not have any spaces for substitutes. Therefore, all substitutes must be listed on the team roster or the alphabetized list, also the OHSAA Eligibility Form.

13. Please advise your track coaches that the State does not permit alternates or substitutes in the Regional or State Track Tournament.

14.  The athlete may use their own implement or the one provided by the meet manager.

15.  All venues will be open a minimum of sixty minutes prior to competition.

All financial reports should be submitted via e-mail to Bob Huelsman (uc69@earthlink.net) for approval within 10 days of the conclusion of the tournament.

Send no monies or reports to the OHSAA until we have reviewed your financial work copy. Reports should be emailed to Bob Huelsman (uc69@earthlink.net)  as quickly as possible. If it is mailed it should be sent to Bob Huelsman, P.O. Box 277, Covington, Ohio 45318
